Finally it can be revealed…the foundation paper pieced autorickshaw I made for a visiting quilter friend!
I used my friend’s favourite Kaffe Fasset fabrics for this little 18″ x 18″ quilted wall hanging.

Like real autorickshaw s, it carries the date of ‘registration’, the ‘owner’s name’ and the name of the ‘manufacturer’ too!As you can probably see, I had a lot of fun making this little purple and green autorickshaw, but the best fun was the expression on my friend’s face when she read the owner’s name on the label!
Thanks! I had a lot of fun making the pattern and see it come alive through the paper piecing. I plan to do a cycle-rickshaw too, have drafted the pattern. 😊
I am envious of Vidya!!!! What a fabulous gift! It’s so beautiful made too! But not too green as I have the one you made for me at Christmas years ago!!! I use it every year. What a superb piece this is. Put the instructions on craftsy to sell!
Thanks, Geeta. I do use Quilt Assistant free software , but I make a lot of changes in their solution. I also change the basic drawing if there are problematic areas.
I don’t think I can explain it. It is like a jigsaw puzzle in reverse with the least number of pieces, no curves and no y-seams! I have a mathematical brain, I guess that helps.
